What is Onsitego Spills & Drops Protection Plan?

Onsitego Spills & Drops Protection plan protects your device from any kind of physical or liquid damage. The plan can be bought only on the same day as the day of your device purchase. It is valid for 1 year, and starts from the date of purchase of the plan and is valid till 12 months calculated from the date of purchase of the device as mentioned on the invoice.

Are there any additional charges applicable for Spills and Drops Protection plans during service?

Accepted Answer

Yes, There is a Copayment which needs to be paid at the time of raising Service Request. Copayment amount to be paid is Rs. 599 or 5% of device price (whichever is higher) which has to be paid at the time of availing the service.

How does it make sense financially to opt for a Protection Plan for your Laptop?

Extended warranty for a 30,000 laptop costs only Rs. 1,999. A simple motherboard change will cost you more than Rs. 6,000 in the market. A smallish crack in the screen will render it useless and cost upwards of Rs. 5,000. It always makes financial sense to opt for protection plan

NOW! Do not delay it. Ideally an extended warranty should be purchased within 9 months of buying the laptop. Where-as a damage protection plan should be purchased on the same day as buying the laptop.

Our laptop warranty plan starts immediately after the manufacturers' warranty expires. For eg; If your laptop warranty or brand warranty expires on 20 May 2017, our warranty starts on 21 May 2017, such that your laptop is always covered. This is why it is important to purchase laptop protection plan in time. Damage Protection plans start right from the day you buy the plan.

I purchased an Onsitego SDP plan. What if my device is now Not Repairable (NR) or Beyond Economic Repair (BER)?

In such a case, Onsitego will provide you a replacement device after charging depreciation amount as given below:

I changed my mind and I want to cancel the plan. Can I get a refund?

While we will be sorry to see you cancel the plan, we can certainly refund the plan within 30 days, provided you have not already filed a Service Request.

What's your international coverage policy?

Accepted Answer

We cover laptops which have been purchased only in India. We will cover such laptops if they go bust in any part of the world! A few features like pick and drop may not be available in such cases. You will need to get the laptop repaired, and we will reimburse you. What if the device cannot be repaired?

If the device cannot be repaired due to unavailability of spare parts, Onsitego will provide you with a new or refurbished

How do I know if my Laptop's hard drive has malfunctioned?

Accepted Answer

To be sure if the hard drive has really malfunctioned, you can go to File explorer > click the Windows button on the bottom left > search for File explorer > right click on the drive you want to check > go to 'Properties' > In windows, go to 'Tools' > click the 'Check' option. If the hard drive is causing the problem, you will find it here.

My device heats up when I use it for more than 2 hours. What should I do?

When a laptop is overheated the device begins to slow down because the CPU slows down to escape heat. Some of the most common reasons for overheating include - dust blocking the exhaust ports, a clogged up fan or a degenerated thermal compound between the heat sink and the CPU or GPU (graphics processing unit). To avoid overheating of the device, use a cooling pad.

I'm unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network on my Laptop. Please help!

Check if the airplane mode on your laptop is switched off and if Wi-Fi is switched on. If that doesn't help, re-install the drivers of the network adapter. Right click on 'My Computer' or 'My PC' > Click 'Manage' > Click 'Device Manager' > Click 'Network Adapters' and under this menu look for your wireless adapter.

Why does my Laptop keep freezing or hang frequently?

If your laptop has been constantly freezing or hanging, insufficient RAM could also be a reason for it. It is necessary to have sufficient RAM to keep the system running smoothly. If you have too many heavy work files saved on your system or games installed on your laptop, this is enough to cause your laptop to hang more often. You could either upgrade to a laptop with higher configuration or save all heavy files on an external hard drive.
