TVS Motor Company has introduced its refreshed 2022 iQube electric scooter in the Indian market. It now comes with two new variants, namely S and ST, in addition to the base variant. The new 2022 iQube electric scooters bring larger capacity battery packs, improved driving range, touchscreen display, Alexa voice control, and fast charging, among other features. While other electric scooters come with futuristic designs, the TVS iQube adopts a bulky design language. So much so that it might pass off as a conventional ICE scooter to the untrained eye. They come with twin telescopic front suspension with 12-inch alloy wheels and a disc brake. There are dual shock absorbers at the rear as well. The iQube ST comes with a large boot that can take two helmets.
The 2022 TVS iQube is powered by a 4.4 kW hub-mounted motor as before. It is reported to reach 0-40kmph in 4.2 seconds. The base iQube and the iQube S variants reach a top speed of 78 km/hr, while the top-spec iQube St variant reaches a higher top speed of 82 km/hr.
The 2022 TVS iQube EV gets a bigger standard battery than its predecessor, which came with a 2.2kWh battery pack. The new base iQube and the iQube S variants come with a 3.4kWh battery, which promises to offer a 100km range as opposed to the 75km range of the outgoing model. The topmost variant, iQube ST, is powered by a larger 5.1kWh battery, which offers a higher range of up to 140km on a single charge.
The iQube and the iQube S variants can be charged via a 650W or 950W charger, whereas the iQube ST variant can be fast charged via a 1.5kW charger. TVS says it has also worked on the throttle response and has optimised the Economy mode to achieve maximum battery efficiency. The Li-ion battery packs are IP67 certified for water and dust resistance and are covered by a 3 year/ 50,000km warranty.
The TVS iQube base variant comes with a 5-inch colour screen, while the iQube S variant gets a bigger 7-inch colour screen. The iQube ST variant comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display. The display shows a variety of information such as battery status, time, date, range, and driving modes apart from the usual speed, odometer, headlight, and turn indicators.
The TVS SmartXonnect feature allows you to pair your smartphone with the instrument cluster to control music. Moreover, it displays the battery status, incoming calls, messages, network status, and navigation, among others. That’s not all, it comes with connected features such as Live Vehicle Tracking, Crash Alert, Geo-Fencing, and Anti-Theft Alert.
2022 TVS iQube: Price, Availability
The base 2022 TVS iQube with improved range and features now costs ₹98,564 on-road in Delhi and ₹1.11 lakh on-road in Bengaluru. This is lower compared to the launch price of the outgoing model, which cost ₹1.15 lakh on-road in Bengaluru. The iQube S variant comes at ₹1.08 lakh on-road in Delhi and ₹1.19 lakh on-road in Bengaluru. All prices are including the FAME-II subsidy.
TVS is yet to reveal the prices of the top of the line iQube ST variant. You can reserve your iQube for ₹999 on tvsmotor.com. It is currently available in 52 cities. Moreover, TVS has promised that it will be made available in 85 cities across India.
The base iQube comes with Pearl White, Shining Red, and Titanium Grey paint jobs. The iQube S is available in Mercury Grey Glossy, Mint Blue, Lucid Yellow, and Copper Bronze colours. The iQube ST comes in Starlight Blue, Titanium Grey Matte, Coral Sand, and Copper Bronze Matte colour options.
