Acer announced several new Chromebook models on Wednesday during its next@acer 2021 global event. The company launched three new laptops running Google’s Chrome OS: Acer Chromebook Spin 314, Chromebook 514, and Chromebook Spin 514. Speaking of these new convertible laptops, the Chromebook Spin 314 is equipped with the Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, whereas the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 is powered by Intel’s 11th Gen Core CPUs. These Chromebooks feature a 14-inch display and come preloaded with a host of Google apps. They also support Android apps via the Google Play store. It will go on sale in November 2021. On the other hand, the Chromebook Spin 514 costs €799 (around ₹69,700). It will be available in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region in October 2021, whereas in the North American market will get access to the laptop in January 2022 with a price tag of $699.99 (around ₹52,600).
Acer Chromebook Spin 314, Chromebook 514 Specifications, Features
Starting off with the Acer Chromebook Spin 314, the company claims that this Chromebook is manufactured in an eco-friendly manner. It features an OceanGlass touchpad, which is made entirely out of the plastic waste that is recycled into a glass-like material. The laptop comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS LCD touchscreen display. It is powered by an Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage.
Connectivity-wise, the Chromebook Spin 314 has an HDMI port, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a microSD slot, and Wi-Fi 6. Audio is handled by an upward-facing speaker which has support for DTS Audio technology. The laptop also has a dual-microphone setup and an optional backlit keyboard. The Acer Chromebook Spin 314 can last for up to 10 hours on a single charge.
Coming to the Acer Chromebook Spin 514, it sports a 14-inch IPS LCD display that has Full HD resolution and an 84% screen-to-body ratio. Powering the Chromebook Spin 514 is equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. It packs up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The laptop has the same convertible form factor as that of the Chromebook Spin 314, a Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad, and a backlit keyboard.
The Chromebook Spin 514 features a Full HD MIPI webcam that uses temporal noise reduction technology and a blue glass filter to minimize light flare during video calls. Similar to the Chromebook Spin 314, the Chromebook Spin 514 has two upward-facing speakers, an inbuilt amplifier, two microphones, and support for DTS Audio. The other features of the Chromebook Spin 514 include an MIL-STD 810H certification, dual USB Type-C ports, and Wi-Fi 6. The company claims that the laptop lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.
