Airtel Deploys First 5G Private Test Network At BOSCH Facility

Airtel is the very first telco to put up private 5G networks at corporations in India, where telecom operators hope to gain significant profits from this network rollout. The first 5G private network in India was successfully tested, according to Bharti Airtel, at the Bosch Automotive Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. plant in Bangalore.

The private 5G network offers a lot of flexibility as well as better dependability and improved security. Furthermore, it frees the procedures from relying on wires, enabling Bosch to benefit from operations automation. The telco has used the trial spectrum at Bosch’s plant to execute two industrial-grade use cases for quality improvement and operational efficiency. It can provide throughput at several GBPS and manage thousands of connected devices.

The Airtel 5G Captive Private Network enabled the Bosch Manufacturing Execution System to drastically decrease the time required to assess the quality utilising Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) of surface-mounted equipment. It ensured quicker data transfer to an AI/ML server for real-time decision-making across a very reliable and secure network, which increased the process’ efficiency (MES).
