Amazon has launched the Echo Show (2nd Gen) in India. The new smart display is the successor to the Echo Show 8 (Gen 1). The first-generation Echo Show model was launched in 2019, and compared to that, the new Echo Show 8 features an upgraded, 13MP camera and a larger (8-inch) HD display. You can connect the Echo Show 8 to smart lights, smart plugs, ACs, smart fans, smart TVs, smart geysers, and other smart home devices that work with Alexa. The other features of the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) include a dedicated mic-off button, hands-free video calling support, ability to set the alarm, reminders, and dual stereo speakers.

The Amazon Echo Show (2nd Gen) price in India is ₹13,999. However, it will be available for just ₹11,499 for a limited time period. The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) can be purchased in India from the Amazon India website. It comes in two colour variants: Black and White.

Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) Features

Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) features an 8-inch HD IPS LCD display. Compared to the first-gen Echo Show, the new model has an upgraded camera in the form of a 13MP sensor that supports auto face tracking so it will track users while they move during a video call. Privacy nuts should know that there is a dedicated camera cover and mic mute button for protecting user privacy.

Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) can be used to stream your favourite movies or TV series. Additionally, Alexa can play your favourite music through Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music, Gaana, JioSaavn, Hungama, and Spotify. As mentioned above, you also get the ability to set up and control several Wi-Fi-connected smart home appliances such as lights, plugs, AC, fans, TVs, and geysers that work with Alexa.

Moving onto the other specifications, the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) comes with stereo speakers. You can set timers and reminders, pay mobile and electricity bills, get weather updates, and catch up on the latest news. You can also remotely monitor your home and view the live video feed from Echo Show 8’s camera on your smartphone or other Echo Show devices. Last but not least, you also can make a hands-free video call with Alexa to your friends and family having the Alexa app or other Echo Show devices.
