Taking a break from its Echo, Fire Stick, and Kindle devices, Amazon has announced a peculiar gadget for kids. Dubbed Amazon Glow, this device offers the little ones a fun way to attend online classes. The Amazon Glow is a tabletop device that combines a tablet screen and a pico projector. It comes with one year of complimentary Amazon Kids+ subscription, which provides access to animated storybooks, e-books, and interactive games.

It has a 720p camera for video calling. Audio is handled by a 10W onboard speaker. The best part, however, is its projector and depth sensors that create a 19.2-inch interactive screen on any flat surface.
Kids can use the projected space to paint without spilling colours. The Amazon Glow offers thousands of books that can be read on a 19-inch screen area with a twist of interactive elements. On top of that, you have games including Checkers, Chess, and Memory Match. The Amazon Glow makes puzzles more interesting with Tangram Bits that interact with the projected screen. Moreover, there’s an object scanning feature that enables kids to turn their toy or doodle into a digital copy.
Amazon has collaborated with Disney, Pixar, Sesame Workshop, Nickelodeon, and Hot Wheels to bring in popular characters to make learning fun. Amazon claims that the device is restricted to age-appropriate content. It also provides parental controls and a privacy shutter for the camera.
Amazon Glow Price, Availability
The Amazon Glow is priced at $300 but is currently available at an introductory price of $250 in the US. It comes with a 2-year warranty where Amazon will fix or replace the device for you.
Amazon’s Alexa Power’s ‘Hey, Disney’ Voice Assistant In Disney Services
In addition to Glow, Amazon also announced the ‘Hey, Disney!’ voice assistant skill. According to the e-commerce giant, it is built upon Amazon’s Alexa technology. The voice assistant ties into several Disney stories and characters from Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. Of course, ‘Hey, Disney!’ will let you perform the usual tasks such as setting an alarm, checking sports scores, playing music. and checking the weather.
The upcoming voice assistant will offer over 1,000 themed interactions. Fans will be able to hear the voice of legendary characters from the Disney universe. The ‘Hey, Disney!’ skill will be made available to Echo devices in early 2022 in the US. Users will be required to purchase it from the Alexa Skill Store.
