Amazon Launches New Kindle Paperwhite (Waterproof), Paperwhite Signature Edition in India

Amazon has introduced its 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite alongside the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition to the Indian market. Since regular LCD screens lead to eye fatigue, both these electronic readers feature a monochrome e-ink display. These e-readers mimic several properties of real paper for a natural reading experience. At the same time, Amazon utilizes specially developed front-light to enable users to read in low-light conditions. Kindle Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature Edition Features

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite and the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition feature a 6.8-inch e-ink display with a pixel density of 300ppi. In the latest version, Amazon allows users to change the light from white to amber for adjusting the white point so that the screen is easier on the eyes during the night. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition also comes with a sensor to fine-tune the brightness based on the surrounding conditions. The touch panel offers quick navigation to Home and Library.

The Kindle Paperwhite comes with 8GB of internal storage. According to Amazon, that’s enough to hold thousands of books. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition goes further by delivering 32GB of internal storage. Both these models feature dual-band Wi-Fi to sync up with Kindle Store. To simplify the initial setup, the new kindle devices can also hook up with your Android or iOS smartphone.

As per the product page, if your reading is limited to half an hour per day, these e-readers last for up to 10 weeks on a single charge. Using a 9W charger, the Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition can be topped up from zero to 100 in 2.5 hours. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is compatible with Qi wireless charging.
