After releasing the third beta of Android 12L last month, Google has finally announced the stable version of Android 12L for tablets and foldables from companies such as Samsung, Lenovo, and Microsoft. Android 12L is an updated version of Android 12 and was designed to give users a better experience on tablets and large folding phones.
With the stable build of Android 12L finally arriving for a range of large-screen devices, let’s find out what it has in store for tablets and foldable devices.
Android 12L Coming For Large-screen Devices
After successfully testing Android 12L in beta, Google has finally announced the stable build of the Android OS to arrive for Samsung, Lenovo, and Microsoft devices. According to Google, the aforementioned brands are planning on bringing Android 12L to their devices later this year. However, there is no exact mention of the release dates.
While it is not clear exactly which devices from the three brands will get the update, Google has specifically stated that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are set to receive the Android 12L update. Lenovo’s P12 Pro tablet already runs a beta version of the Android 12L.

The Pixel smartphones will be the first devices to receive the update with the March 2022 Pixel Feature Drop update. However, Pixel 6 owners will have to wait a bit longer, as usual, to receive the update. Lastly, Microsoft’s Surface Duo 2 could also be among the first devices getting updated to Android 12L.
While the latest version will be available to select tablets and foldable devices, the future mainline Android releases will include its UI improvements.

Android 12L will provide a better experience when using bigger screens with some improved features that include a new notification shade that separates quick tiles and notifications. Further, it introduces a two-column layout for settings and a taskbar that lets users select apps to run simultaneously.
