The first Apple Store to ever be opened in India has reportedly been postponed a second time. Originally scheduled to open in 2021, the store in Mumbai was later set to be opened in 2022. It has now been postponed until 2023. The store is anticipated to rival the flagship locations in Los Angeles and Singapore as one of the most magnificent Apple Stores in this part of the world.

The Indian government encourages businesses to first establish local manufacturing facilities before opening brick and mortar stores. Apple attempted to avoid this for a while but ultimately decided to cooperate with its suppliers to establish manufacturing facilities in the country.
More powerful phones have progressively been added to this list of devices being manufactured in India, including the iPhone 13 earlier this year. However, initial plans only included manufacturing the iPhone SE in the country. The iPhone 13 is entirely produced by Foxconn, Apple’s top vendor in the nation, whereas the iPhone SE and iPhone 12 are produced by Wistron.
In 2020, Apple attained the necessary standards to start operating its own shops nationwide. The company began with an online store, where Mac sales tripled in only one year. According to Economic Times, the store could be open from January through March next year. It is anticipated to launch in the posh Jio World Centre in Mumbai, while a second location is anticipated to open in the Select Citywalk mall in New Delhi.
