Apple iPhone 14 Pro Design, Hole + Pill Notch Revealed Via New Renders

Apple first introduced the display notch with its iPhone X smartphone back in 2017 and persisted with a similar design for the 2021 iPhone 13 series. Many reliable Apple leakers, tipsters, and analysts have been reporting that the 2022 Apple iPhone 14 series would be finally ditching the awful looking display notch. New CAD renders of the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro handset reveals that Apple is finally jumping onto the bandwagon of punch-hole camera cutouts for its displays. 

iPhone 14 Pro CAD Renders And Expectations

Going by the CAD renders of iPhone 14 Pro by 91mobiles, it looks like there will be two camera cutouts instead of one. The pill-shaped cutout is centrally placed and is accompanied by a circular cutout flanked to the right. Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), had earlier posted a similar image in which the circular cutout was positioned to the left of the pill-shaped cutout. These cutouts could likely house the selfie camera, Face ID Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, and Proximity Sensor. 

The iPhone 14 Pro renders suggest that there will be uniform bezels surrounding the screen and the earpiece will be placed on the top bezel. The overall design language is largely similar to that of the iPhone 13 series with flat sides. Expect a premium glass and metal sandwich build. The power button is placed on the right side and the volume rockers are placed on the left side of the device. Above the volume buttons, you can see the alert slider and the SIM card slot sits below the volume buttons. 

Heading on to the rear of the device, you see a similar camera island comprising the three sensors, LIDAR sensor, LED flash, and a microphone. You won’t get a USB Type-C with the upcoming iPhone 14 series as it has a lightning port at the bottom, flanked by the microphone and the speaker. 

However, there’s no mention of a Touch ID sensor. So don’t expect an in-display fingerprint sensor that Android devices are equipped with. The display size of the iPhone 14 Pro is expected to be the same as before, retaining its compact dimensions. Expect more such leaks and information on the iPhone 14 series in the future.
