During its ‘Far Out’ event today, Apple took the wraps off the iPhone 14 series. It includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. In this article, we will take a look at the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It is the company’s most advanced smartphone for 2022. It has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a pill-shaped cutout, the Apple A16 Bionic processor, a 48MP primary camera, satellite connectivity for emergency situations, and improved battery life.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: Price, Availability

The 128GB variant of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is priced at ₹1,39,999, while the 256GB variant is priced at ₹1,49,999. The 512GB and 1TB versions of the phone cost ₹1,69,999 and ₹1,89,999, respectively. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available for pre-order starting September 9, 2022, on Apple’s website, and it can be purchased starting September 16, 2022.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a pill-shaped notch, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and 2,000 nits of peak brightness in outdoor mode (and 1,600 nits in HDR). The device features Face ID for biometric unlocking. The front of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is protected using a Ceramic Shield panel on the front and the rear. The device is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance (up to 6 metres for up to 30 minutes).

The pill-shaped notch on the screen is being marketed as the ‘Dynamic Island’ feature, in true Apple marketing mumbo jumbo. The company has used that section of the screen to display ongoing events like an ongoing call, voice recorder, battery level, sports scores, and even cab booking progression.

Under the hood, the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes equipped with Apple’s latest in-house processor, the Apple A16 Bionic. The new chipset is made using TSMC’s 4nm It has 6GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage. The phone comes pre-loaded with iOS 16.

Coming to the cameras, the iPhone 14 Pro Max features a triple-camera setup on the rear. It has a 48MP primary camera (with OIS and dual-pixel autofocus), a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. All the cameras now offer improved image quality, even in low-light conditions. There is a new Action Mode that records even more stable videos but at a slightly lower resolution of 2.8K and a frame rate of 60fps.

At the front, the iPhone 14 Pro Max sports a 12MP selfie camera with autofocus. All the cameras on the iPhone 14 Pro Max support 4K 60fps video recording.

The connectivity features of the iPhone 14 Pro Max include GPS, 5G (sub-6GHz + mmWave), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, UWB, NFC, and a Lightning Port. Apple Pay is supported, too, featuring compatibility with AMEX, MasterCard, and VISA. The phone has the new Emergency SOS via Satellite feature that can send text messages even when there is no cellular network connectivity. This feature will be initially limited to Canada and the US. It can connect to emergency services in case of such situations.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max comes powered by a 4,323mAh battery. Combined with the more power-efficient chipset and a slightly higher battery capacity, the phone easily lasts more than a day even with heavy usage. It is compatible with up to 27W fast wired charging (USB PD), 15W MagSafe wireless fast charging, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging.
