The macOS Monterey 12.2 was released last month, and some users who installed the software update faced excessive battery drainage in their Macs during sleep mode. The reason was identified to be the Bluetooth devices that were frequently waking up the Macs they were connected to.

After updating to macOS 12.2, users complained that the battery life dropped from 100 percent to 0 percent while in sleep mode overnight. The bug was reported for both Intel-based Macs and Apple silicon-based Macs. Switching off Bluetooth or disconnecting Bluetooth accessories resolved the issue, but that wasn’t an ideal solution.
Apple has finally addressed the issue by releasing the macOS 12.2.1 update. Additionally, for Mac users on beta, macOS Monterey 12.3 would do the job, as it also fixes this bug. However, Mac users on the stable build will not have to wait for the macOS Monterey 12.3 to fix the battery drainage issue.
Furthermore, macOS Monterey 12.2.1 also fixes a WebKit bug. This bug would allow maliciously crafted web content to lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple states that Mac users should install the new update as soon as possible to avoid further exploitation of this issue.
To download the macOS Monterey 12.2.1 update, eligible Mac device users need to head to the Software Update section of their device’s System preferences.
