Apple Watch Series 8 Goes Official With Temperature Sensor, Better Health Tracking: Price, Specifications

At the ‘Far Out’ event, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 8. It’s the company’s newest smartwatch, and it comes with improved health and fitness tracking. It even features a skin temperature sensor. It has a 1.69-inch display on the 41mm version and a 1.9-inch display on the 45mm version. It has all the health tracking features one would expect from a smartwatch and comes with advanced female health tracking.

Apple Watch Series 8 Specifications, Features

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes in two sizes and two materials (Aluminium and Stainless Steel). The 41mm version of the smartwatch features a 1.69-inch OLED display with rounded corners, up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, and Always-On Display. The display is protected using Ceramic Shield. The smartwatch features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance (up to 50 meters).

Apple has equipped the Watch Series 8 with an accelerometer, blood pressure monitor, barometer, gyro, GPS, ECG, SpO2 and VO2 Max calculation, and skin temperature measurement. It features advanced female health cycle tracking. It can automatically detect various workouts and even multisport workout tracking. It can track sleep quality, too.

Apple says that the Watch Series 8 can also track vehicle crashes and notify emergency services as well as family and friends. Other new features of the smartwatch include Medications Reminder and AFib history.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is equipped with the Apple S8 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It comes pre-loaded with the watchOS 9 operating system. The cellular version of the smartwatch can connect to cellular LTE networks. It lasts up to 36 hours on a single charge and features fast charging via the USB Type-C equipped wireless charger.

The Aluminium version of the Apple Watch Series 8 comes in four colours: Midnight, PRODUCT RED, Silver, and Starlight. The Stainless Steel version of the smartwatch comes in three colours: Gold, Graphite, and Silver.

The Apple Watch Series 8 starts at ₹45,900 for the GPS model. The GPS + Cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at ₹55,900.
