Asus has added two new OLED laptops, the Asus ZenBook S 13 OLED and ZenBook Pro 15 Flip OLED, in its ZenBook lineup of notebooks. OLED panels have more vivid colours and contrast levels when compared to LCDs, and Asus seems to be on a mission to democratize the OLED tech in the laptop world.
The ZenBook S 13 OLED will be powered by an AMD Ryzen processor, whereas the ZenBook Pro 15 Flip OLED will come with Intel’s 12th Generation processors and Arc GPUs. Both the laptops will come with Asus’ new arrow-shaped monogram on their lids, which is exclusive to the ZenBook line.
Asus ZenBook S 13 OLED: Features, Specifications
The Asus ZenBook S 13 OLED flaunts a 13.3-inch OLED display with 2.8K, 0.2ms response time, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 550 nits of peak brightness. The display supports 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. It also gets Corning’s Gorilla NBT protection. The laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, with an option of Ryzen 5 6600U. It is equipped with up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
In terms of connectivity, it comes with three USB Type-C ports with PD (Power Delivery) and DP (DisplayPort) support. But, it is devoid of any USB Type-A port, which might make it difficult to connect older devices. For entertainment purposes, it comes with Harman Kardon tuned speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Vision. The ZenBook S 13 OLED is powered by a 67Whr battery under its hood, which is claimed to offer a battery backup of up to 10 hours on a single charge.
ZenBook Pro 15 Flip OLED: Features, Specifications
The ZenBook 15 Flip OLED is a 2-in-1 style laptop with a 360-degree hinge. It can be used as a laptop or a tablet at your convenience. The laptop boasts of a 15.6-inch OLED panel with 2.8K display resolution, 120Hz screen refresh rate, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. The notebook is powered by up to a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor coupled with up to an Arc A370M GPU. It will be equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe M.2 SSD.
Connectivity features of the laptop include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and Wi-Fi 6E support. It comes with a single-zone RGB keyboard, Pen 2.0 support, and an IR camera for facial recognition. The notebook gets a couple of audio features such as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The laptop is powered by a 96Whr battery pack.
Asus hasn’t released the pricing information for these new laptops. They will be released in the US markets and will be subsequently launched in other regions.
