Ather Energy has rolled out a new update which will introduce a new “SmartEco” mode for its 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters. This mode will help riders achieve the true range of their vehicles without affecting performance.
Currently, the Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus support the following four modes—Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. Although the Eco mode offers to extract maximum range from the vehicle, it also limits the performance. Similarly, the other modes also restrict the electric scooter’s acceleration and maximum speed.
Ather SmartEco Mode Features
Ather’s new SmartEco mode promises to counter these limitations by regulating “the amount of power available to you by dynamically adjusting your maximum acceleration.” In this mode, factors such as riding styles and road conditions will be considered. Additionally, it will take note of whether you are riding solo or with a pillion. After assessing all these factors, it will adjust parameters such as acceleration on the fly and at the same time keep power consumption within limits.
The SmartEco mode will also add a power bar on the right-hand side of the dashboard. This will help you keep an eye on the battery level and indicate how to use your vehicle efficiently. For instance, when the bar is blue, riders can accelerate quickly by using the scooter’s power reserve. This will be useful when you want to quickly overtake vehicles. The bar will turn red when this reserve is exhausted. Riders can then shift to other powerful modes that the Ather electric vehicle has on offer.
How To Get The Ather SmartEco Mode Update
Ather’s SmartEco mode is set to replace the current Eco mode. To get this new feature, customers will have to enable the Ather Labs option on the app. Do note that it is only available to those who are subscribed to the Ather Connect Pro plan and will be rolled out in a phased manner.
The SmartEco mode can be installed on the Ather 450x and Ather 450 Plus e-scooters via an OTA update. They can then navigate to Settings on the e-scooter’s touch screen display and select Update Now.
