If you are planning to be more active this year and keep a track on your health, you should probably invest in a fitness band or a smartwatch. Smart fitness bands and smartwatches can continuously track your movements, calories burnt, sleep, exercises, and even suggest workouts when you’ve been stationary for a long time. They also offer heart rate tracking and can notify when your heart rate touches alarmingly high. Other smart band features include mirroring notifications from the smartphone, silent alarms, displaying time/date/day, and keeping a track of the weather.
We have created a list of the best smart fitness bands that are available in India. If you are looking for an affordable fitness band to track your activity, workout, and sleep, you can find the best ones in this list.
Best Affordable Fitness Bands in India
Most of the best fitness bands in India are all capable of tracking steps, runs, cycling, and other forms of physical activities. They all feature an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, and some of them are also equipped with a barometer and an SpO2 sensor. They all have displays to showcase important data such as steps taken, calories burnt, date, day, time, and notifications. These fitness bands and smartwatches can also track your sleep so that you can check if you are getting enough sleep every day.
1. Mi Band 5 – ₹2,499 (Buy From Amazon)
The Mi Band 5 from Xiaomi is downright the best affordable smart fitness band in India. At just ₹2,499, it comes with a 1.1-inch colour AMOLED screen that shows the time, date, day, activity, heart rate, sleep, incoming calls, notifications, and more. It is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance for up to 50 metres of water depth. It can last up to two weeks on a single charge, and it comes with a magnetic charging puck for an easier charging process. It can track up to 11 activities, including outdoor running, treadmill, power walking, cycling, elliptical, and rowing machine.
It can notify you about irregular heart rate, sleep quality, and even your naps. Women can use it for menstrual health tracking and everyone can use its breathing exercises to reduce stress. The Mi Band 5 can also act as your smartphone camera’s shutter button, allowing you to take images remotely. It can last up to 14 days on a single charge.
Pros
- Full-colour OLED touchscreen
- Good design with IP68 certification
- Activity, workout, heart rate, pressure, and improved sleep tracking
- Notification mirroring, music and camera control
- 2-week battery life

Cons
- Could’ve had more exercise modes
- Watch faces could have a better design
2. Mi Band 4 – ₹2,299 (Buy From Flipkart)
The Mi Band 4, which is more than a year old now, is still a great fitness band in India. It has a full-colour AMOLED display as well, similar to the Mi Band 5, but it is slightly smaller (at 0.95-inch). It features Bluetooth 5.0, accelerometer, gyro, heart-rate monitor, and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. It can track various outdoor and indoor activities and workouts, mirror notifications, control music, track heart rate and sleep, and can last up to two weeks on a single charge, similar to the Mi Band 5.
So where does the Mi Band 4 fall behind compared to the Mi Band 5 owing to its slightly lower price? Well, the Mi Band 5 has 11 sports tracking modes, while the Mi Band 4 has 6. The Mi Band 5 also features improved sleep tracking with REM data, pressure tracking, breathing assessment, women health tracking, and remote camera shutter control, all of which are absent from the Mi Band 4. The Mi Band 5 also features a newer, magnetic charging adapter, while the Mi Band 4 uses the older pogo pin adapter which feels a bit flimsy.
Pros
- Full-colour OLED touchscreen
- Good design with IP68 certification
- Activity, workout, heart rate, and sleep tracking
- Notification mirroring, music and camera control
- 2-week battery life
- Extremely affordable for the features

3. OnePlus Band – ₹2,499 (Buy From OnePlus)
The OnePlus Band is OnePlus’ first smart fitness band, and it comes with a nicer design compared to the Mi Band 4 and the Mi Band 5. However, in terms of software and features, the Mi Band 4 and the Mi Band 5 are slightly better. The OnePlus Band features a 1.1-inch colour AMOLED screen, accelerometer, gyro, heart rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. It can track 13 activities/workouts and sleep, mirror smartphone notifications, offer silent alarms, and offers music playback and camera controls for the connected phone. It lasts barely more than a week, though, at least at the time of writing this article.

- Full-colour OLED touchscreen
- Attractive design with IP68 certification
- Activity, workout, heart rate, and sleep tracking
- Notification mirroring, music and camera control
- Affordable
Cons
- Could’ve had more exercise modes
- Not as feature-rich as Mi Band 4 or 5
- Only 1-week battery life
4. Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 – ₹3,999 (Buy From Samsung)
The Galaxy Fit 2 is Samsung’s affordable smart fitness band. It is priced higher than comparable fitness bands from Xiaomi and OnePlus, but it comes with Samsung Health integration, which is more feature-rich than Mi Fit or OnePlus’ own health and fitness platform. The Galaxy Fit 2 has a 1.1-inch full-colour Super AMOLED screen and a two-week battery life on a single charge. It uses an accelerometer, gyro, and optical heart rate sensor for tracking activities, fitness, and sleep (and naps).
It has plenty of attractive watch faces, can mirror smartphone notifications, control music, offers quick replies to messages, and even remind you to wash your hands to stay safe from the COVID-19 and other viruses. It can automatically detect 5 workouts (walk, run, dynamic workout, elliptical, and rowing). Samsung even offers stress tracking and breathing exercises.
Pros
- Full-colour OLED touchscreen with high brightness
- Attractive watch faces

5. Amazfit GTS 2 Mini – ₹6,999 (Buy From Amazon)
The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is a glorified fitness band in the shape of a smartwatch, and it is great for those who prefer fitness trackers that appear like regular watches. It has excellent design and high-quality build, thanks to an aluminium case. Spending a bit higher also gives you a much larger and sharper, 1.55-inch AMOLED display with 50+ watch faces and 30+ always-on display clocks. It has an accelerometer, gyro, heart rate monitor, SpO2 sensor to track your activities, workouts, steps, sleep, stress, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation. It can track more than 70 workouts.
It is IP68-certified for up to 5 ATM. It can last up to two weeks on a single charge with typical use and one week with heavy use. Additional features of the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini include breathing exercises, Pomodoro clock, music control, remote camera shutter, silent alarms, female cycle tracking, and notification mirroring.
Pros
- Large, full-colour OLED touchscreen display with high brightness
- Attractive watch faces and AoD patterns
- Excellent, high-quality design with an aluminium build and IP68 certification
- Activity, workout, heart rate, stress, sleep tracking, and female cycle tracking
- Breathing exercises
- Notification mirroring, music control, remote camera shutter, Pomodoro clock
- 2-week battery life
- 70+ workout modes
Cons
- None, really for the price and features
You can buy any of these fitness bands and be satisfied. However, you should choose the one that fits your needs and budget. The Mi Band 5 is a great fitness band for anyone looking to buy an affordable model, and I would advise people to buy it over the older Mi Band 4. The Galaxy Fit 2 is a great fitness band for those who are into Samsung’s ecosystem and have data in Samsung Health. For those who can spend a bit extra or want to have a fitness tracker that looks like a regular watch or smartwatch, the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is the best option in the affordable price range.
