Auracast is a new technology developed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). This new audio technology includes features such as audio sharing, public listening, and increased accessibility. Bluetooth’s LE Audio includes Auracast, which goes well beyond SIG’s basic point-to-point audio transmission.
Auracast, according to SIG, will allow a single audio transmitter to broadcast to a limitless number of nearby receiving devices. The new technology will open up a host of possibilities, such as enabling venues to broadcast audio straight to attendees’ devices, allowing users to share their audio with others, and allowing Auracast-enabled devices to remotely unmute TVs in public venues. Auracast’s applications are nearly limitless.
