Selling a smartphone could be a daunting process as opposed to buying a new one. To address this issue, Flipkart has introduced a new Sell Back programme to enable you to sell your old smartphones on its platform. This announcement follows Flipkart’s acquisition of Yaantra, which sells refurbished smartphones and provides mobile repair services.
The buyback service is now live in all major Indian cities, covering more than 1700 area codes. Currently, you can only sell your smartphones via the Sell Back programme, but Flipkart will expand it to laptops and other devices at a later stage.

At Flipkart, we continuously work towards bringing smart tech-enabled solutions to help our customers purchase the latest, desired products at best prices. As people continue to upgrade their devices, there is a growing market for reselling devices that is highly unorganised and difficult to navigate. With Flipkart’s Sell Back Programme, we aim to help organise this market. As the Indian consumer electronics industry witnesses rapid growth, this programme will further our efforts towards reducing the generation of e-waste – which is a crucial step in creating a sustainable economy.
How To Sell Your Smartphone Via Flipkart’s Sell Back Programme
If you wish to sell your device, just visit the Flipkart app and choose the ‘Sell Back’ option at the bottom bar. Answer three questions related to your device. Once the required information is provided, the product will be picked from your provided location within 48 hours. Later you will be issued an e-voucher of the buyback value. Flipkart doesn’t discriminate with smartphone brands and the Sell Back service can be availed on smartphones bought from any e-commerce websites as well as offline retail shops.
