Texas-based fashion brand Fossil has launched its sixth-generation smartwatch lineup in India. Dubbed Fossil Gen 6, this smartwatch is based on Google’s Wear OS 2.0 operating system. As per the brand, the digital timepiece offers several fitness features, an onboard speaker to make or receive calls, and a swim-proof design. It uses the Snapdragon 4100+ processor, a heart rate monitor, and an SpO2 sensor. With that out of the way, let’s take a deep dive into its specifications.

The company offers plenty of customisation options for dials, buttons, straps, and bracelets. There are various design variants of the smartphone. Some designs are unisex, while others suit males or females.
The smartphone sports a 1.28-inch OLED touchscreen display. The watch is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor that has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and the Adreno 504 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. The Fossil Fen 6 covers Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC. The smartwatch runs Google’s Wear OS 2.0 platform with access to Android apps. Fossil claims that the Gen 6 will be eligible for Google’s upcoming Wear OS 3 update in 2022. it connects to your Android or iOS smartphone over Bluetooth.
Owing to the inbuilt mic and speaker, Fossil’s latest watch can be used for making or answering calls without having to whip out your smartphone from the pocket. When in a workout, you can summon Google Assistant for hands-free operation.
The watch comes with a heart rate sensor that offers continuous tracking. It also features an SpO2 sensor, which can estimate blood oxygen saturation. Apart from that. it deploys an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the screen brightness. The Fossil Gen 6 features a 4-pin USB charger with a magnetic puck. As per the brand, half an hour of charging can juice up the watch from zero to 80%. With heavy usage, the smartwatch can deliver 24+ hours of battery life. By switching to Extended Battery Mode, you can make it last for several days.
In comparison, the similarly priced Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has a better display, a faster processor, the latest version of Wear OS (Wear OS 3.0), higher storage space, and more fitness tracking options.
Fossil Gen 6 Price In India, Availability
The Fossil Gen 6 price in India starts at ₹23,995 for the 42mm version and ₹24,995 for the 44mm variant. The smartwatch will go on pre-order in India on September 25, 2021.
