A report from Deutschland has emerged confirming the existence of the Samsung S21 FE. Earlier there were rumours that the South Korean giant had decided to scrap the project due to the chip crisis and also due to the increasing demand for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Samsung was planning on bringing the Samsung S22+ instead. But recent leaks of the marketing materials and other information suggest otherwise and that’s exciting news for Samsung fans.
Samsung tasted success with the Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition), which was the most affordable of the Galaxy S20 lineup. Launched in 2020, it accounted for nearly 2 million sales by November 2020. Samsung, after a lot of contemplation, finally launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G variant in India, in March 2021. It had an impressive set of cameras, a very potent Snapdragon 865 chipset, AMOLED display, and a premium build with metal frame, that too at much lower prices than its siblings. It was a value offering and even challenged OnePlus devices with its aggressive pricing.

It would have been a disaster for Samsung, had they green signalled the scrapping of the Galaxy S21 FE project. Thanks to WinFuture, we now have some key details about the Galaxy S21 FE.
Samsung S21 FE Features, Specifications
The Samsung S21 FE will inherit its design from the Samsung S21. Antenna lines on the mid-frame suggest it will be made of aluminium whereas the back will be made of polycarbonate. The handset will be ultra-slim with just 7.9mm thickness and will weigh just 170gms. It will sport a 6.4-inch flat type Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It will get an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock for biometric authentication.
The report suggests it will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC. The handset will be equipped with 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB internal storage. There won’t be any way to expand the storage and you will have to make do with the internal memory.
On the photography front, the S21 FE will inherit the 12MP f/1.8 primary shooter with OIS from the Galaxy S21. The second sensor will be a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter with a 123-degree field of view. The third one will be an 8MP telephoto shooter with an f/2.4 aperture and OIS. There will be a 32MP f/2.2 selfie snapper with an 81-degree field of view at the front.
Other noteworthy features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, wireless charging with PowerShare, NFC, and an IP68 dust/water resistance certification. The device will be powered by a 4500mAh battery with fast charging support. The smartphone may launch with One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 right out of the box.
Samsung S21 FE Price, Availability
The expected price for the 6GB+128GB variant is around 749 Euros (approximately ₹64,300). The 8GB+256GB variant might cost 819 Euros (approximately ₹70,300). However, expect the Indian prices to be slightly lower than these European prices. The handset will come in lavender, olive, white, and black colour options. Expect it to launch early next year.
