Google will launch a series of new smart home products that will include Matter compatibility. These devices will also have the capability to be paired using Google’s Fast Pair function for a simple setup. Fast Pair will allow devices to pair fast and effortlessly, allowing the platform to handle a range of voice assistants and networking protocols.
Matter is a new smart home device standard that will enable cross-platform connectivity. Amazon, Google, Apple, Anker, and other key smart home device manufacturers have already joined together to make their future smart home gadgets Matter compatible. Matter, which was supposed to be released in 2021, has been postponed several times, with the latest release date set for late 2022.

Fast Pair can currently be used to swiftly pair headphones, and we expect it to work on syncing lightbulbs and smart plugs with Android and Nest devices in the future. The feature will eventually use scanning QR codes to swiftly pair IoT items, which will be a much easier choice than the current one.
Matter, as well as the Fast Pair approach, appear to be promising, and we hope that the work is on track and that no further delays occur this time.
