Google Pixel 6a With Tensor SoC and 12MP Dual-Rear Cameras Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Google, after a gap of two years, has launched a new Pixel series smartphone – the Google Pixel 6a in the Indian market. The Pixel 6a features the same design language as that of the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. The mid-range Pixel device packs the same processor as that of its elder siblings. It offers a 4,410mAh battery and a 12MP dual-rear camera setup.

Google Pixel 6a: Price in India and Availability

The Google Pixel 6a price in India is ₹43,999 for the 6GB + 128GB configuration. As a launch offer, buyers can avail a ₹4,000 instant discount with Axis Bank Debit and Credit Cards. The smartphone is available for pre-order exclusively via Flipkart and will go on sale starting July 28.

Google Pixel 6a: Specifications and Features

The Pixel 6a offers a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 1080 × 2400 pixel resolution, 429ppi pixel density, and 60Hz refresh rate. It is a 20:9 aspect ratio display that supports a 10,00,000:1 contrast ratio and HDR. The display sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and houses an in-display fingerprint scanner beneath.

Under the hood, the Pixel series device is powered by an octa-core Tensor chip, an integrated Titan M2 security chip, and a Mali G78 GPU. It brings with it 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The handset comes pre-loaded with Android 12 and will get three Android OS upgrades.

For the optics, the mid-range Pixel device offers on a dual-rear camera setup that includes a 12.2MP primary sensor with an F1.7 aperture and 77° field of view. It gets accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an F2.2 aperture and 114° field of view. The Pixel 6a sports an 8MP shooter with an 84° field of view and an F2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.

The Pixel 6a comes equipped with a 4,410mAh battery unit and 18W fast charging support. For charging and data transfer, it relies on a USB Type-C 3.1 port. The Pixel series device lacks a 3.5mm audio jack but packs a stereo speaker setup. The smartphone is also water and dust resistant with the IP67 rating.

The mid-range Pixel smartphone comes in two colour options—Charcoal, and Chalk. Google hasn’t launched the Sage colour option of the smartphone in the country. The Pixel 6a measures 152.2 × 71.8 × 8.9mm and weighs 178 grams. In terms of connectivity, it offers dual-SIM (nano + eSIM), 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and 6E (6GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, Glonass, and Galileo.
