Honor’s First Foldable Honor Magic V Launched: Price, Specifications

Honor has launched its first-ever foldable device—the Honor Magic V at an event in China. Honor has taken the same approach as that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold for its Magic V. The Magic V offers a 6.45-inch cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the main display is a 7.9-inch panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a 4,750mAh battery unit. Let us take a closer look at Honor Magic V price, features and specifications.

Honor Magic V Price

The Magic V retails in two configurations—12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The 256GB storage variant of the foldable costs RMB 9,999 (approx ₹1,16,150), whereas the 512GB variant is priced at RMB 10,999 (approx ₹1,27,762). It will be available for purchase starting January 18 in China.

Honor Magic V Specifications and Features

The Magic V flaunts a 6.45-inch OLED cover display with Full HD+ (2,560 × 1,080 pixel) resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, 1000nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display on the foldable is a 7.9-inch OLED Full HD+ (2,272 × 1,984 pixel) resolution, 10.3:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate.

Powering the Honor’s foldable is Qualcomm‘s flagship octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor which is built on Samsung’s 4nm fabrication process. The foldable device comes with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The handset boots Android 12 with Magic UI 6.0 skin on top.

The Magic V is equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The primary sensor on the foldable is a 50MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. Accompanying it is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 50MP ultra spectrum camera with f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, it offers a 42MP resolution sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Magic V packs a 4,750mAh battery unit with 66W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, an infrared sensor, and a stereo speaker setup. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS. It measures 160.4 × 72.7 × 14.3mm when folded and 160.4 × 141.1 × 6.7mm when unfolded.

The handset comes in three colour variants—black, silver, and orange. The black and silver colour variants of the foldable phone come with an AG glass back and weigh 293grams. On the other hand, the orange colour variant has a back panel with a faux leather finish and weighs 288grams.
