Samsung is all set to host the Galaxy Unpacked event today. The company is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5 series, and new TWS earbuds at this event. In the past few months, the plethora of leaks has already given us an idea of what we can expect from all the devices which are launching today. The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event will be streamed by Samsung on its official website Samsung.com. The company will also stream the event on its official YouTube channel, Samsung Newsroom, and its Twitter handle.
Galaxy Unpacked 2022 (August Event): What To Expect
As mentioned above, Samsung is expected to announce the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. When it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the device is expected to sport a 6.2-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. The inner display on the device is expected to measure about 7.6 inches. Under the hood, the handset is reported to come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The device might pack up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 includes a 50MP triple-camera setup with OIS and EIS support, 10MP outer selfie camera, and 4MP inner selfie camera. It also features NFC, fingerprint sensor, eSIM support, S Pen support, IPX8 rating, a 4,400mAh, 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080 pixels. The device is tipped to sport a 1.9-inch display on the outer side which might offer a 512 x 260 pixel resolution. An octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is expected to ship with this new flagship device. The phone will sport a 12MP primary camera and a 10MP selfie camera. Furthermore, the handset is said to have NFC support, IPX8 rating, a fingerprint sensor for security, 3,700mAh battery, 25W wired charging support, and 15W wireless charging support.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung is also tipped to launch the Galaxy Watch 5 series at this upcoming event. The Galaxy Watch 5 is expected to include three variants—two Galaxy Watch 5 models and one Galaxy Watch 5 Pro variant. The base Galaxy Watch 5 40mm model is expected to sport a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with a 396 x 396 pixels resolution, while the 44mm variant might feature a 1.36-inch AMOLED display. On the software front, the Galaxy Watch 5 series is reported to run One UI 4.5-based WearOS 3 out of the box.
Furthermore, these new smartwatches are also tipped to offer 10W charging support. The Galaxy Watch 5 40mm variant will be available in Phantom Black, Silver, Pink Gold colour option when it launches, while the Galaxy Watch 5 44mm variant might debut in Phantom Black, Silver, and Sapphire colour option. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, on the other hand, could arrive in Black and Gray Titanium colour options. The Pro model is expected to feature a 1.36-inch AMOLED display and it might be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos W920 processor.
Apart from new smartphones and smartwatches, Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is expected to debut in Zenith White and Bora Purple colour option and they might resemble the original Galaxy buds. Furthermore, past leaks suggest that the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will pack 10mm drivers and will offer Bluetooth v5.3 support. The new TWS is also expected to offer a digital surround sound experience with the help of 360-degree audio, IPX8 rating, 8 hours of playback time on a single charge, and up to 29 hours with the charging case.
