One of the most notable features of the Ioniq 5 is its ’80s-inspired design, which combines clean and minimalist lines, flat surfaces, and an SUV-like look with some throwback design elements to give the car a distinct appearance.
There are two powertrain options for the car. The first is a single-motor configuration that generates 169hp and 350Nm of torque and drives the rear wheels. The higher trims feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that delivers 325hp and 605Nm of peak torque. There are two battery pack options—a 77.4kWh pack with a maximum range of 502km (WLTP cycle) and a 58kWh pack with a range of 385km on a single charge. The EV has 800V battery technology, which enables rapid charging, with the Ioniq 5 charging its batteries from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 220kW DC charger.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Price
This year, the Ioniq 5 will be available in India as a full import. Because it is a CBU unit, we believe the Ioniq 5 will cost more than ₹50 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India. It could be released in the country alongside the Kona Electric Facelift. Apart from that, Hyundai’s sibling brand Kia intends to launch the Kia EV6 in India, which would use the same base and battery packs as the Ioniq 5.
