iQOO Z5 Android 12 Update Released In India: New Features

After rolling out the Android 12 stable update for the iQOO Z3 and iQOO 7 Legend, iQOO has now started rolling out the Android 12 Stable update for the iQOO Z5 in India. The handset was launched back in September 2021 in India. The iQOO Z5 Android 12 Stable update comes with Vivo’s proprietary FunTouchOS 12 skin. It carries firmware version PD2148BF_EX_36.9.2 and the OTA has an update size of about 5.08GBs. Let us take a closer look at the features and changes that the update brings to iQOO Z5.

Added the Unlock to power off feature. You need to unlock the phone to power it off.

Added the feature in which an “approximate location” is given to apps. Apps will only get an approximate location instead of a precise one.

Added the app hibernation feature. If you haven’t used an app for months, it will be denied access to all permissions by the system.

iQOO is yet to confirm the rollout officially. However, this might be a phased rollout, so the update may not be available on your unit yet. The company may take up to a couple of weeks to roll out the update for all the iQOO Z5 users in the country.

iQOO Z5 Specifications and Features

The iQOO Z5 features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, 650nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The handset packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The iQOO Z5 offers a triple-rear camera setup including a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it features a 16MP shooter inside a punch-hole notch. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery unit and 44W fast charging.
