The iQOO Z5 was released in September last year, and the company is now gearing up to unveil a sequel, the iQOO Z6 5G, just a few months later. The launch microsite of the upcoming phone has gone live, indicating an imminent launch.
Let’s take a closer look at the iQOO Z6, its specifications, features, price range and everything we know so far.
The iQOO Z6 Might Not Be A Successor To The Z5 After All
A new microsite on iQOO India’s official portal went live today, teasing the iQOO Z6 5G smartphone for consumers in India. The page on the website says that the phone is coming soon, confirming that the phone would soon be launched in India.
The microsite also gives us a first look at the upcoming smartphone. There’s a rectangular triple rear camera module paired with an LED flash on the back. On the right, users can spot the volume rockers and power button, with an embedded side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Recently, tipster Mukul Sharma also revealed a few specifications of the iQOO Z6 5G via Twitter. According to Sharma, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC and be the fastest 5G smartphone in the 15K price segment, implying that the base variant of the phone could be priced below ₹15,000 in India.
The Snapdragon 695 5G is an octa-core chipset manufactured using a 6nm process. It has 2 Kryo 660 Gold (Cortex-A78) cores clocked at 2200 MHz and 6 Kryo 660 Silver (Cortex-A55) cores running at 1700 MHz.
This is surprising considering that the current iQOO Z5 packs in the much more powerful Snapdragon 778G SoC onboard. The iQOO Z6 is said to include a Full-HD+ 120Hz display with 8GB of RAM, which can be further expanded by up to 4GB using Extended RAM 2.0, a fancy name for Virtual RAM. The phone will feature 5-layer liquid cooling technology to keep the temperatures in check and the Z6 scores 4,10,563 points in Antutu.
