Right after Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) announced price hikes for their prepaid recharge plans, India’s biggest telecom operator Reliance Jio hiked the prices of its prepaid recharge plans as well. Now, Reliance has introduced a new budget plan for its user, and it costs just ₹1. The Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom company has also changed the validity period of its ₹119 recharge plan.
The ₹1 plan offers 10MB of data for one day. Initially, when this plan was announced, Jio was offering 100MB of data. However, the telco quickly adjusted the plan to offer just 10MB of data, which is almost useless as per our opinion and a way to be in the media with the announcement.

Maybe some people would buy it in case of emergencies. Regardless, the new recharge plan is currently available via the My Jio app.

Moving onto the ₹119 plan, customers used to get 1.5GB per day, unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS, and access to Reliance Jio’s suite of apps for 14 days. However, the plan was revised by the company today, and Reliance is now offering a validity period of up to 28 days. The benefits remain the same, though. Actually, this plan used to cost ₹99 earlier, and its price was increased in May 2021 to ₹119.
