Reliance Jio announced its “True 5G” services in top metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and more in October 2022. Lately, it expanded the 5G services to Chennai and Rajasthan, which is now followed by two more cities: Bengaluru and Hyderabad. With this, a total of eight cities now have access to Jio True 5G services in India. New Jio users can avail the 5G services through the invite-only system. The 5G network will reportedly offer speeds anywhere between 50Mbps and 1Gbps.

To get an invite, you can download the MyJio app on your 5G enable smartphones. You will need to open the app and tap on the invite to register for Jio’s 5G services. As part of the “Jio Welcome Offer” users are not required to pay any additional charges for the services.

Furthermore, users will also need to update their 5G smartphones to the latest software to enable Jio’s 5G network services. Many leading smartphone brands have already rolled out the updates to enable the Jio True 5G services. However, Samsung, Google, LG, and Asus have not rolled out the required software updates yet.
Meanwhile, there have been reports hinting at the limited availability of 5G services in various cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Varanasi, and Nathdwara. While the telecom giant has managed to launch the 5G services in eight major cities, the services are still not accessible on various compatible smartphones. Hence, we can expect some major updates from the company to improve their customer service in the future.
