This Massive 325-inch TV From LG Is Only For Those Who Can Spend ₹12.5 Crores

Can’t go to the cinema due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic? Well, you can bring home that experience by dropping $1.8 million (around ₹12.5 crores). Made for extremely rich cinephiles who won’t settle for normal-sized screens, LG has announced a massive 325-inch Direct View LED (DVLED) TV. The display setup is modular and requires a separate WebOS controller to drive the picture, which means that it needs to be installed by professionals.

LG DVLED TV Home Cinema Display Specifications

LG’s DVLED technology is quite similar to Samsung’s MicroLED technology introduced with The Wall TV in 2018. In DVLED, each panel comprises millions of tiny LEDs that create the light and colour required to form an image. In your regular TV, LEDs only provide the backlighting whereas the picture is created by the LCD layer. In simple words, LG’s DVLED is more like giant TV screens you might have spotted during the IPL games.

The 325-inch DVLED configuration comes with an 8K resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits to play nice with HDR videos. LG claims that the 325-inch setup has a 160-degree viewing angle. The TV uses an onboard α7 processor and an ambient light sensor to adjust the picture according to ambient light conditions in real-time. The TV setup weighs in at around a tonne, which is heavier than your Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

If the 325-inch screen turns out too big for some millionaires, LG also offers customisable solutions starting from a “small” 108-inch panel. You can also configure it in 32:8 “UltraStretch” arrangement if you wish to watch multiple video sources (live sports and news) on the same TV.

According to CNET, the 325-inch panel configuration will cost you around $1.7 million, which roughly translates to ₹12.5 crores. Splurging so much money will also give you five years of premium warranty service. The South Korean company will offer ATA-certified flight cases should you choose to relocate your LG DVLED Cinema Display.

The company hasn’t revealed whether it will bring the LG DVLED TV to the Indian market.
