LG, the South Korean consumer electronics giant, is rolling out the Android 11 update to its LG Wing smartphone. According to a report, Verizon models in the United States will be eligible for the update. The LG Wing was running on Android 10 since its inception. Now it will finally get the Android 11 update, at a time when other manufacturers are seeding Android 12 updates to their smartphones. The latest update also brings the November 2021 security patch.

- Upgrades the phone’s firmware to Android 11
- Conversation bubbles notify you of a new message via floating bubble
- Wireless Emergency Alert: Changed from LG APK to Google APK in R-OS
- Tap&Pay: Tap & Pay moved under Settings > Connected devices > NFC
- Tap&Pay will be shown when the NFC is on, will disappear when it’s off
- Mobile Hotspot: Removed Manage connections and 802.11 mode menu

The innovative product was launched in October 2020 in India and was targeted towards multi-tasking millennials and gamers. But in 2021, LG decided to pull the plug on its global smartphone operations. Shortly after, the LG Wing was available at a discounted price of ₹29,999, down from its original launch price of ₹69,990.
The company had promised two years of Android updates for its flagship smartphones. But, now that the company has ceased operations, it is likely the LG Wing may not get the Android 12 update. Beggars can’t be choosers given the circumstances, and you will have to be content with the Android 11 update for now. There is no word about the Android 11 roll-out for unlocked versions of the LG Wing globally. But, since the Verizon model is getting the update, expect it to be around the corner.
