According to rumours, Tata will modify the SUV’s floor to fit the larger battery, which will most likely lower boot capacity.
This larger battery will contribute to increased range, with the present model clocking 312km of range in tests and 220km in real-world use. This long-range variant is predicted to have a test range of 400 kilometers and a real-world range of approximately 320 kilometers.
A more powerful 6.6kW AC charger option is also expected for the long-range Nexon EV. This is most likely in addition to the standard Nexon EV’s 3.3kW AC charger, which is reported to take about 10 hours to charge the battery. Aside from that, this new model may also include the ability to adjust the level of regen.
Tata is expected to equip the Nexon EV long-range with cutting-edge technology such as ventilated seats, additional airbags, an air purifier, cruise control, a park mode, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), among other things.
Tata Nexon EV Long-Range Expected Pricing
The long-range Nexon EV is estimated to cost between ₹3 lakh and ₹4 lakh more than the current Nexon EV. However, Tata will continue to sell the older model alongside the new long-range variant in order to provide customers with more price and range options.
This new variant is expected to compete with the Hyundai Kona Electric and the MG ZS EV. Tata will benefit from lower pricing because Nexon is entirely manufactured in the country.
