Mark Levinson, owned by Harman, well known for its high-end audio systems is now foraying into the wireless headphones space. It has launched its first wireless headphones with a unique name—‘No.5909’. Folks familiar with the brand would know that these headphones won’t be coming cheap. The company says that it has used very premium materials like anodised aluminium in its construction that makes it very lightweight and comfortable to be used all day. It comes with metallic finished ear cups. The headband and ear cushions are made from leather to enhance their overall appeal.
The Mark Levinson No.5909 headphones come with 40mm Beryllium coated drivers. The company says it is tuned according to the Harman Curve, something that their experts have developed after decades of research. It essentially improves the acoustic performance of the headphones.

The Mark Levinson No. 5909 supports LDAC, AAC and aptX Adaptive wireless codecs over wireless connections handled by Bluetooth 5.1. For wired connections, it gets USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio cables, 3.5mm to 6.3mm adaptor, and a mini-jack adapter included in the box.
The No. 5909 comes with an adaptive Active Noise Cancellation feature (ANC) with three modes for enhanced sound isolation. You also get an Ambient Aware feature that allows the noises to filter in. There are four microphones on board coupled with ‘Smart Wind Adaptation’ tech, which ensures a superior calling experience.
The Mark Levinson No.5909 headphones can last up to 34 hours without the ANC and 30 hours of playback when the ANC is turned on. Charging it for 15 minutes can offer about six hours of music playback. You can control certain functions of the headphones via an app available for Android and iOS.
The headset is available in Pearl Black, Ice Pewter, and Radiant Red paint jobs. It is priced at $999 (approx. ₹ 74,300) in the US. It is up for grabs right away, that is, if you have the money lying around.
