MediaTek Announces Dimensity 920, Dimensity 810 Processors Aimed At Mid-Range 5G Smartphones

Taiwanese smartphone chipset giant MediaTek has announced two new Dimensity series chipsets: MediaTek Dimensity 810 and MediaTek Dimensity 920. These new chipsets will power midrange 5G smartphones in the near future. Both new SoCs (System on Chip) are built using TSMC’s 6nm manufacturing process. The Dimensity 920 and the Dimensity 810 are octa-core processors that support Full HD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate and integrated 5G modems that support 5G in dual-SIM configuration as well.

MediaTek Dimensity 920 Specifications

The MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor has an octa-core CPU (two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPU clocked at 2GHz) and the ARM Mali-G68 GPU. It is designed to offer higher power efficiency, thereby extending battery life even for mobile gamers. As per MediaTek, the Dimensity 920 offers up to 9% faster gaming performance compared to the Dimensity 900. It supports up to Full HD displays with a 120Hz refresh rate,

The processor supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM modules as well as UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 storage chips. The SoC has an integrated 5G modem that supports dual-5G SIM card slots, dual-VoNR (Voice over New Radio), 2CC Carrier Aggregation, and both SA and NSA networks. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and multi-GNSS for navigation. The ISP (Image Signal Processor) inside the Dimensity 920 supports 108MP camera sensors and 4K HDR video recording.

MediaTek Dimensity 810 Specifications

Similar to the Dimensity 920 SoC, the Dimensity 810 is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process as well. The Dimensity 810 is also an octa-core processor, featuring four Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. The ARM Mali-G57 GPU inside this SoC supports devices with a Full HD resolution display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is compatible with LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, dual-camera concurrency, up to 64MP cameras, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0. It has an integrated 5G modem that supports up to 2CA (Carrier Aggregation), dual-5G SIM, VoNR, and SA/NSA networks.
