The FiLogic 380 is a 6nm chip that provides Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity to consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, TVs, notebooks, set-top boxes, and OTT streaming sticks. Because MediaTek also supplies the required platform solutions, its dual concurrent 22 capabilities are optimised out of the box for these devices.
Key Wi-Fi 7 features such as 4096-QAM, 320MHz, MRU, and MLO are also supported by the FiLogic 380. The MLO offers up to 6.5Gbps speeds, up to 5Gbps in one channel and the chip comes with support for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. Dual 22 radios for dual-band simultaneous operation are also supported, as is Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio.
Separately, MediaTek will showcase its Filogic Wi-Fi 7 platform solutions for access points and client ecosystems at Computex 2022, which will take place in Taipei, Taiwan from May 24 to 27.
Speaking on the announcement, Alan Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Business at MediaTek, said, “Our wireless connectivity solutions are designed to deliver the fastest performance using the most advanced technologies, and represent MediaTek’s commitment to drive Wi-Fi 7 adoption in a large number of new markets. With Filogic 880 and Filogic 380, our customers can deliver fast, reliable and always-on connected experiences to meet the industry’s growing connectivity demands”.
