Alongside the Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro and Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition, Xiaomi has also launched the all-new Mi TV 5X series in India. The Mi TV 5X succeeds the company’s Mi TV 4X lineup. It brings a number of improvements compared to the Mi TV 4X. The first major change you get to notice is that the Mi TV 5X series has a bezel-less design and metal frame around the display. The Mi TV 5X series comes with a 4K HDR display that has is compatible with HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. It features an HDMI 2.1 port, far-field mics, quad-speakers, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2×2 MIMO). All three models in the Mi TV 5X lineup run the Android TV operating system with PatchWall 4 UI.

The Mi TV 5X series can be purchased from mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home stores, and Tata Croma starting September 7 at 12 PM (noon).
Mi TV 5X Specifications, Features
The Mi TV 5X uses an LCD display and an in-house Vivid Picture Engine 2 processor that offers better saturation levels and sharper details. All the three models in the new TV lineup boast a 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixel) and HDR compatibility via Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. The display can cover 88% of the NTSC colour gamut and 94% DCI P3 colour gamut. The Mi TV 5X 43-inch model has a 95.4% screen-to-body ratio, whereas the 50-inch version has a 95.9% screen-to-body ratio.
On the software side of things, the Mi TV 5X series runs the Android TV 10 operating system with PatchWall 4 UI. Xiaomi mentions that the PatchWall 4 UI now offers over 75 live channels for free and has universal search to show results of content from all OTT apps. It also shows movie and TV show ratings via IMDB integration.
Powering the Mi TV 5X is a 64-bit quad-core A55 processor which has the Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. All three TV models pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Connectivity-wise, the Mi TV 5X features three HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, AV input, one Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Mi TV 5X also has dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2×2 MIMO). The other features of the Mi TV 5X include built-in Chromecast, far-field mics for better ‘Okay Google’ hotword detection for Google Assistant, and a built-in ALLM (Auto Low-Latency Mode). Audio output on the 43-inch model is handled by 30W speakers, while 50-inch and 55-inch models come equipped with 40W stereo speakers. These speakers have Dolby Atomos and DTS-HD support.
