Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 Announced: Price, Specifications

Microsoft has announced the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 today. The launch of this new product by Microsoft was imminent considering that its specifications were recently revealed by a retailer listing. Speaking about the specifications, the Surface Laptop Go 2 comes with a new chipset, retaining the same design as its predecessor. It features Intel’s 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of SSD storage and a 12.4-inch display.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 Pricing, Availability

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is available for pre-order in select markets starting today. The laptops will start shipping as early as next week, from June 7. As for the pricing, the Surface Laptop Go 2 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage costs $599 (roughly ₹46,456), while the variant with 8GB of RAM retails for $699 (roughly ₹54,212). The top-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage is priced at $799 (roughly ₹61,698). This new laptop comes in Sage colourway.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 Specifications, Features

As mentioned above, the Surface Laptop Go 2 retains the same design and screen size as that of its predecessor. This means that you still get a 12.4-inch PixelSense Touch display that has a resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixels and a pixel density of 148 PPI. As for the hardware, this new laptop is powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 chipset which is accompanied by Intel Iris Xe Graphics. The laptop ships with 8GB LPDDR4x and packs 256GB of SSD storage. Similar to its predecessor, the new Surface Laptop 2 Go lacks a backlit keyboard and Windows Hello facial recognition.

As for the software, this new laptop runs Windows 11 Home. Connectivity-wise, it has one USB Type-C port, one USB Type-A port, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 6: 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.1, and a Surface Connect port for charging. The audio on the laptop is handled by Omnisonic Speakers that have Dolby-Audio Premium support. Dimensions-wise, the laptop measures 10.95 x 8.12 x 0.62 inches and weighs 1,127 grams.
