Microsoft had launched its cloud-based game streaming platform called ‘Project xCloud’ last year to take on rival cloud gaming services from Nvidia (GeForce Now) and Google (Stadia). The streaming service uses custom Xbox One X-series hardware servers located across the globe to bring some of the best console and PC gaming titles to your web browser, Android-based devices, and iOS/iPadOS-based devices. You don’t need to have powerful gaming rigs or a gaming console; just a web browser, fast internet connectivity, and a monthly or yearly subscription to xCloud. Some games require a wired or wireless controller to be attached to your phone or tablet while some game titles can be played via the touchscreen display. It also allows you to resume your games from where you left off across all compatible devices.
The gaming streaming service has now been renamed to ‘Xbox Cloud Gaming’, and its presence has been increased from 22 countries to 26 countries. It means that four more markets now have access to Microsoft’s game streaming service: Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan.
