Motorola is taking its own sweet time to update its smartphones to the latest Android 12 version. Ideally, Motorola, with its near-stock UI, should have rolled out updates faster than its rival companies but is falling behind. After seeding the Android 12 stable update to its upper mid-range Motorola Edge 20 device, the Lenovo-owned company is rolling out the update to its Motorola Edge 20 Pro device.
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro was launched back in 2021 and came with Android 11 out of the box. The new firmware version S1RA32.41-20-16 is meant for the device with XT2153-1-DS serial number and will update it to the stable version of Android 12. The update is currently rolling out in Brazil and will be available to other regions soon.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro owners might get an update notification in the coming few days or weeks. If you are too excited to wait, then you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings > System > Advanced > System Updates. Always take a backup of your data before performing such major Android OS updates.
