Motorola has finally launched its latest flagship handset—the Motorola Edge 30 Pro in India as well as global markets. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is more or less a rebranded Moto Edge X30 which was launched back in December in China. The handset packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a 50MP triple-rear camera setup. The Edge 30 Pro flaunts a 6.7-inch 10-bit pOLED display with a Full HD+ (2,400 × 1,080 pixel) resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The display panel supports up to 700nits brightness and is HDR10+ certified. The display supports DCI P3 colour space and is also covered under Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Powering the Edge 30 Pro is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that is fabbed on Samsung’s 4nm process. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 brings with it an Adreno 730 GPU, X65 5G modem, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. The handset boots Android 12 based MyUX. The company has also promised Android 13 and Android 14 updates for the handset.
The Edge 30 Pro offers a triple-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary sensor on the device is a 50MP OmniVision OV50A40 sensor with an F1.88 aperture and OIS. Accompanying it is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 114° field of view and an F2.2 aperture. The ultra-wide-angle lens also doubles as a macro shooter and lets you go as close as 2.5cm to the subject. There is also a 2MP depth sensor with an F2.4 aperture.
For selfies, the Edge 30 Pro relies on a 60MP shooter that has an F/2.2 aperture. The rear camera can record 8K videos at up to 24fpd and 4K videos at up to 60fps. The front shooter can also record 8K videos at up to 24fps.
The Edge 30 Pro comes equipped with a 4,800mAh battery unit and supports 68W TurboPower fast charging. Additionally, it supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. The handset offers a Type-C charging port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a stereo speaker setup, but lacks the 3.5mm audio jack.
The Edge 30 Pro comes in two colour options—Cosmos Blue and Stardust White. The handset also features an IP52 splash-resistant rating. In terms of connectivity, it offers Dual-SIM, 5G (13 bands), WiFi 6E 802.11ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS. It weighs 196grams and measures 162.66 × 74.95 × 8.79mm.
