Motorola is soon going to launch its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship, dubbed the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, in the global and Indian markets. That said, the brand appears to be planning yet another flagship for its fans, if a new leak is to be believed. According to a new leak, Motorola is gearing up for the launch of its 2022 flagship, which will likely be called the Motorola Frontier.
The Motorola Frontier appears to be pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography even further, as it is being touted to sport a 192MP primary sensor. The first-ever renders of the upcoming Motorola Frontier have been leaked today, which give us a working clue as to what the device will likely look like. Let’s take a look at the leaked renders of the upcoming Motorola Frontier and find out what the device has in store for us.
Motorola Frontier Renders Leaked
The renders of the Motorola Frontier have been leaked by noted tipster Evan Blass, who took to Twitter to leak the first look of Motorola’s upcoming flagship offering.
As seen in the images above, this is what the Motorola Frontier will allegedly look like. At the front, the device will make room for a centrally-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The device is tipped to feature a curved display. The power button and the volume up and down buttons are on the right side of the device.
At the bottom, we can see the SIM tray, a USB Type-C charging port, and a bottom-firing speaker grille. At the back, the device will make room for a rather conventional Motorola logo and a rather unconventional camera module. Why unconventional, you ask? Well, the leakster claims that the Motorola Frontier will house a mammoth 192MP primary sensor (with OIS) alongside a couple of supporting cameras. Though there’s no stopping other brands from adopting such a large sensor on their upcoming smartphones before Motorola pulls off its Motorola Frontier, chances are highly likely that it could very well be the first brand to do so.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Motorola Frontier is said to flaunt a 6.67-inch FHD+ 144Hz curved AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G mobile platform, which will likely be clubbed with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 storage.
The device is tipped to feature a 4,500mAh battery with support for 125W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. For photography, the Motorola Frontier will reportedly make room for a triple rear camera setup, including a 192MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 12MP macro camera. At the front, the device is said to feature a 60MP selfie snapper.
