Motorola has launched the world’s first smartphone equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor: Motorola Moto Edge X30. The smartphone has been launched in China. Alongside the Moto Edge X30, the company has also launched the Motorola Moto Edge S30, which uses the Snapdragon 888 chipset. The Motorola Moto Edge X30 features first, the handset flaunts a 6.7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB internal storage.
The Moto Edge S30 has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display, featuring Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 108MP triple-camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Motorola Moto Edge X30 Specifications
The Moto Edge X30 comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display that has Full HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, up to 700 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen also features a punch-hole cutout at the centre to accommodate the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It comes in three memory configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The device boots Android 12 out of the box with MYUI 3.0.
Moving onto the cameras, the device features a triple-camera setup. It has a 50MP main camera with an F1.88 aperture and OIS. Then there’s a 50MP ultrawide camera with 114° field-of-view. There is a 2MP depth sensor with an F2.4 aperture that helps in capturing portrait images.
The front of the smartphone has a 60MP camera with an F2.2 aperture and 4K video recording. The other specifications of the Moto Edge X30 include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an IP52 rating for dust and water splash resistance, 5G (SA/NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, NFC, and a 5,000mAh battery. The phone supports 68W TurboPower fast charging.
Motorola Moto Edge X30 Price
The Moto Edge X30 variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at CNY 3,199 (around ₹37,922). The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs CNY 3,399 (around ₹40,306). The top-end variant of the phone with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 3,599 (around ₹42,678).
The device will go on sale in China starting December 15, 2021. Alongside the Moto Edge X30, the company has also announced the Moto Edge X30 Special Edition. It has an under-display selfie camera and it is priced at CNY 3,999 (around ₹47,421). It has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Motorola Moto Edge S30 Specifications, Price
The Motorola Moto Edge S30 has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The device uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage.
On the software front, the Moto Edge S30 runs Android 11 out of the box. It has a triple-camera setup, featuring a 108MP primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depths sensor. The other features of the Moto Edge S30 include a 16MP front-facing camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Audio-Technica audio tuning, IP52 rating, 5G (SA/NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, and a 5,000mAh battery. The phone supports 33W fast charging.
The Motorola Moto Edge S30 comes in four memory configurations. The base model of the Moto Edge S30 has 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, and it is priced at CNY 1,999 (around ₹23,715 ). The variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs CNY 2,199 (around ₹26,805), while the variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 2,399 (around ₹28,445). The top-end variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 2599 (around ₹30,835).
The device will be available for pre-order in China from December 12, 2021. The handset comes in Glacier Blue and Phantom Black colour variants.
