According to a 9to5Google report, the tech firm has started rolling out the latest Google Play update to all Android devices. The key highlight of the update is the introduction of a self sharing feature to Nearby Share.
For those unaware, Nearby Share on your Android phone functions similar to AirDrop on Apple devices, and is also compatible with Chromebooks and Windows PCs. As mentioned earlier, the app already supports Group transfers to allow you to share a file with multiple recipients that are in proximity to you. With self sharing, you will be able to seamlessly share files links and text from one of your own devices to another. It implies that you’ll no longer need to approve each and every file you transfer between your own devices.
Furthermore, Google Play system update for May 2022 introduces a redesign of the company’s on-device support and knowledgebase hub, the Google Help app. Google hasn’t yet provided any details on the changes, but the app may reportedly adopt the latest Material You design language that was introduced with the Pixel 6.
Further, you will experience a variety of security improvements once you update your device. In order to get these features, you will have to upgrade to Google Play Services version 22.15 and the Play Store version 30.3.
