Nokia XR20 Android 12 Update Starts Rolling Out: New Features List

HMD Global launched its rugged Nokia XR20 smartphone last summer. The device came with Android 11 OS out of the box and finally, the brand has started pushing out the latest Android 12 update to the Nokia XR20 devices. The update is seemingly being rolled out to users in Finland as of now, but we can expect the remaining parts of the world to receive similar treatment from the brand in the coming days.

Nokia XR20 Android 12 Update Details

The latest Android 12 update for the Nokia XR20 comes with the build number V2.300, and is currently rolling out as an OTA (Over The Air) update in some parts of Europe. A widespread rollout is imminent, so if you are residing elsewhere, fret not.

The update, on top of the usual Android 12 goodies, comes with the March 2022 Android security patch level, which is still the latest in the market for some time. Speaking of the features the latest update has in store for the Nokia XR20 users, the update comes with:

1. An all-new Privacy Dashboard, which is essentially a clear and comprehensive view of when apps access your location, mic, or camera over the past 24 hours.
2. Accessibility Improvements: Designed to be even more accessible with new visibility features; Area magnification, Extra dim, Bold text, and Grayscale.
3. Private Compute Core: Protect sensitive data in the Private Compute Core. A first-of-its-kind secure mobile environment.
4. Conversation Widgets: An all-new conversation widget puts the conversations with the people you care about front-and-center on your home screen.

It is worth nothing that the update is 2.1GB in size, so users are advised to make use of an unmetered and high-speed data connection (preferably a Wi-Fi network) to install the update on their Nokia XR20. Plus, it is always a good idea to keep a backup of the device’s sensitive/important data before hitting the update button.
