Carl Pei’s Nothing has scheduled a new launch event titled ‘The Truth’ for March 23. The company is rumoured to reveal its first Snapdragon-powered smartphone next month. The event might be used to discuss the company’s future product strategy, which includes an Android-powered smartphone.
Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming event from Nothing and everything we know so far.
Nothing’s First Smartphone Could be Teased At Its Upcoming Event
Nothing announced its new launch event via social media this Wednesday, with the date set for March 23. During MWC 2022, the company showcased a prototype of its forthcoming smartphone to many top executives. The translucent design of the brand’s debut product, the Nothing ear (1), is believed to be carried over to the brand’s first smartphone.
However, the company has not made it clear whether they will introduce a new device or disclose their 2022 roadmap. Considering the Snapdragon logo on the launch microsite and the teasers, we expect some details regarding the Nothing smartphone to show up at the event. However, there’s a good probability this event might be held to disclose the annual roadmap of the company.
Nothing has also announced a fresh $70 million round of funding, which will be used to develop the company’s “product ecosystem” and establish its London Design Hub, which will be led by former Dyson Head of Design Adam Bates. The company has previously received funding from GV (Google Ventures), as well as a number of other well-known figures in the digital and online entertainment industries. Cooperation with Qualcomm is yet another sign that the London-based tech firm has always had a smartphone in the works.
Furthermore, Community Investment Round 2 is also on the way, according to the brand. The company had raised $1.5M in 54 seconds in the first round of Community Investment.
