OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta program based on Android 12 for the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and the OnePlus 8T smartphones. The company also recently unveiled the Android 12 Beta 1 for the OnePlus 9R. Let’s take a closer look at the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 8 series and everything we know so far.
OxygenOS 12 brings new Light and Space visual design elements. OnePlus has introduced Work-Life Balance 2.0 mode for its users with the latest OxygenOS 12 update. There’s also an Enhanced Dark Mode feature. The company claims that users will have three levels of Dark Mode with the new update, namely Enhanced, Medium, and Gentle.

How to Install OxygenOS 12 Open Beta Update
Follow the instructions below if you’d like to try out the OxygenOS 12 beta upgrade based on Android 12 on your OnePlus 8 series smartphone. Please keep in mind that this is a beta version, so there may be inconsistencies and flaws in the user interface.
- Begin by downloading the appropriate firmware update file to your OnePlus device.
- For OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro users
- For OnePlus 8T users
- For OnePlus 9R users
- Next, copy or relocate the downloaded firmware package to your smartphone’s internal storage.
- Now open Settings and go to System > System Updates > choose Local upgrade from the three dots icon.
- Finally, select the downloaded file, choose Upgrade, and then select System Upgrade.
