OnePlus 9, 9 Pro OxygenOS 12 (Android 12) Stable Update Rolling Out in India

OnePlus has finally started rolling out the OxygenOS 12 stable update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro users in India. The brand had rolled out Android 12-based ColorOS 12 for both these handsets a couple of weeks back in China. The OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 OxygenOS 12 update is based on Android 12. The OxygenOS 12 update comes with a host of changes and new features including an all-new Dark Mode, Shelf Improvements, Canvas AOD improvements, Work-Life Balance 2.0, and a lot more.

The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro OxygenOS 12, based on Android 12, come with firmware version OxygenOS 12.0.0.0, as reported by several users on the OnePlus Community. Let us take a closer look at the features and changes that OxygenOS 12 brings to these devices.

As per threads posted on the OnePlus Community forum, OnePlus 9 users in India are receiving the OxygenOS 12 update with the firmware version OxygenOS 12.0.0.0.LE25DA, and the OTA update is about 4.15GB in size. Whereas OnePlus 9 Pro users are receiving the OxygenOS 12.0.0.0.LE15DA update which is about 4.25GB OTA size. Take a look at the complete changelogs below:

Work-Life Balance
• Work-Life Balance feature is now available to all users, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings
• WLB 2.0 now supports automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization

Gallery
• Gallery now allows you to switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture, intelligently recognizing the best-quality pictures, and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more pleasing

Canvas AD brings you new diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals

It seems like the OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro is rolling out in phases, so the update may or may not have appeared on your unit yet. Android OEMs follow phased rollout to minimize the impact of critical bugs, and the brand might take up to a couple of weeks for the complete roll-out.
