OnePlus 9RT Android 12 Update (Closed Beta) Testers Being Invited

OnePlus has finally announced OnePlus 9RT OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta program in India, four months after the launch. To those unaware, the handset was launched back in January in the Indian market and runs OxygenOS 11, based on Android 11, as of now. During the launch, the brand announced that the OnePlus 9RT Android 12 update will be released in March or April, but that didn’t happen.

However, the brand has now announced the OnePlus 9RT OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta program, and we can expect the handset to get the Android 12 Stable update in the coming weeks. OnePlus took to the OnePlus Community forum to announce the same.

OnePlus usually conducts a Closed Beta program which is basically a testing phase, which is also the first step towards a stable release. After selecting the testers, the company will soon release OnePlus 9RT OxygenOS 12 Closed Beta update for testing. After the firmware is tested and bugs are reported, the company moves to the next step—the Open beta program.

Starting this year, OnePlus has adopted a new strategy that differs from the old Closed Beta testing (CBT) programs. Instead of a long-term CBT, OnePlus now favours short-term CBT programs. For the OnePlus 9RT Android 12 Closed Beta testing program, OnePlus plans to recruit 200 users from India. These users will have to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with OnePlus as the CBT group requires absolute secrecy.

OnePlus 9RT Android 12 (OxygenOS 12) Closed Beta Update: Requirements

• Must own a OnePlus 9RT India variant.
• Must be an active member of the OnePlus Community forum member.
• Must report bugs/issues and provide suggestions to the developer team.
• Willing to take a risk as CBT versions are likely to have some bugs that can even affect the system stability.
