OnePlus launched its first premium range TWS—the OnePlus Buds Pro back in July 2021. Now, the company has introduced a new Silver special edition of the Buds Pro. The OnePlus Buds Pro Silver special edition is inspired by Mithril, a fictional metal from the Lord of the Rings. OnePlus is making use of non-conductive vacuum metallization technology in the manufacturing process, and as a result, the Buds Pro Silver variant comes with a unique metallic effect and an anti-fingerprint coating. OnePlus Buds Pro Specifications and Features
The Buds Pro features 11mm drivers which the company has tuned for a rich bass experience. It packs a BES 2500YP chip under the hood. The Buds Pro is equipped with a triple-mic setup and offers active noise cancellation up to 40dB. OnePlus is offering three ANC modes—Faint, Smart, and Extreme.
The Buds Pro supports Bluetooth 5.2 and offers LHDC audio codec. It supports OnePlus Fast Pair, but you need to have a OnePlus device launched in/after 2018. It also offers Dolby Atmos on select OnePlus smartphones. The OnePlus Buds Pro comes with a new OnePlus Audio ID feature that lets users create personalized audio experiences. There is also a low-latency gaming mode with 94ms latency.
The earbuds, with the inbuilt battery, provide about 7 hours of music playback without ANC. However, with ANC on, the music playback drops to about 5 hours. With the charging capsule, users can enjoy up to 38 hours of music playback without ANC. But with ANC turned on, it would last for about 28 hours on a single charge.
Each earbud gets a 40mAh battery unit, whereas the charging capsule packs in a 520mAh battery unit. The charging capsule comes with a Type-C port and supports 7.5W charging. It also supports Qi wireless charging, but it is capped to 2W. It takes about an hour for a full charge through wired charging. However, if you are charging it with a wireless charger, it will take about two hours. OnePlus has also equipped Buds Pro with Warp charge, which the company claims will offer 10 hours of music playback on a 10 minute-charge.
The charging capsule measures 60.08 × 49.07 × 24.88mm and weighs 50grams, whereas the earbuds measure 31.97 × 21.1 × 23.18mm and weigh 4.4grams. The earbuds also feature an IP55 rating which makes them water and sweat-resistant. The charging capsule, on the other hand, features IPX4 water-resistant rating.
