OPPO has officially announced the successor to the OPPO A16, the OPPO A17 smartphone, in the Malaysian market today. Speaking about the design of the device, it has a leather texture back and a punch-hole display. The smartphone features a dual-rear facing camera, a 5MP selfie shooter, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the device has 4GB of RAM, IPX4 rating for splash resistance, and 4G VoLTE support. Let us take a look at the detailed specifications and pricing of the device.

OPPO A17 Pricing, Availability

The OPPO A17 comes in Lake Blue and Midnight Black colours. The device is priced at 599 Malaysian Ringgit (roughly ₹10,600). The smartphone is available for sale in Malaysia through OPPO’s official website. As of now, OPPO has not revealed any details regarding the global availability of the device. We can expect the phone to be released in the Indian market in the coming weeks.

The OPPO A17 boasts of a 6.56-inch display that has HD+ 1612 × 720 pixels resolution. The display panel has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and a water-drop-shaped notch that houses the selfie camera. Under the hood, the A17 is equipped with MediaTek’s octa-core Helio G35 processor which is paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device packs 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Furthermore, the handset also has 4GB Virtual RAM and microSD card support for storage expansion up to 256GB.

On the software side of things, the A17 runs Android 12 out of the box with ColorOS 12.1 on top. When it comes to imaging, the device features a dual-camera setup. The handset features a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front side, the device sports a 5MP camera. The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IPX4 rating for splash resistance.

Connectivity-wise, the handset has 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C Port. The whole package draws power from a 5,000mAh battery.
